Meet the Dad Behind COPBH: Dr. Huston Featured in CBUS Dads

We talk a lot about children's mental health here on the COPBH blog — anxiety, ADHD, resilience, feeding therapy. But every now and then, it's worth stepping back and introducing the people behind the practice.

Dr. Parker Huston, founder of Central Ohio Pediatric Behavioral Health, was featured in CBUS Dads, a community spotlight series from The Dadass Podcast celebrating Central Ohio fathers who balance an active life with involved parenting. The series has been running since 2016 and profiles real Columbus-area dads — not for their job titles, but for how they show up for their families and community.

The feature gives a glimpse of Dr. Huston off the clock: a Westerville dad who bikes to Thai Grille in Uptown Westerville with his kids, cheers on the Crew and Blue Jackets as a family, and lives by a six-word parenting philosophy — "Let them try everything."

That philosophy, it turns out, isn't so different from what drives his clinical work. The same openness he brings to parenting — curiosity, patience, a willingness to meet kids where they are — shapes the way COPBH approaches therapy. When asked what he's most looking forward to as a dad, Dr. Huston said it simply: watching his kids grow into young adults and being there to support them along the way.

That's exactly what we try to do for every family who walks through our door.

COPBH is proud to be a part of the Westerville and greater Columbus community — not just as a pediatric therapy practice, but as neighbors, parents, and advocates for children's mental health. Learn more about our team or reach out to schedule a consultation.
